A West Kirby train pauses at Hamilton Square station, Birkenhead. Like the trains to New Brighton, this train is using the third platform that enables these trains to avoid conflicting with Liverpool bound ones from the Chester and Ellesmere Port line (see also Image). This platform looks like a less busy version of the Wirral Line platform at Liverpool Lime Street - see Image
