VW Beetles touring round the city centre as part of a parade of Beetles and Porsches on Sunday 29 September 1985. In the background, centre, is the cream bulk of the former Coventry Theatre which by then had been taken over by the Apollo group and been 'converted' to a bingo hall. The Apollo sign can be seen high on the wall. The theatre was demolished in 2002. The building in front of it is the former Matterson Huxley and Watson ironmongers in Hales Street which was also demolished at about the same time as the theatre.
