A new industrial and retail development is under way here, at Junction 11 of the M74 motorway. Part of the route of the former Muirkirk Branch of the Caledonian Railway, which ran from Douglas Station to Muirkirk Station, can be seen at the bottom of the photo, to the left of the roundabouts.
