Former road Toll House, The Street, Charlton. Thought to have been built for the Faringdon-Acton Turville Turnpike Trust in the 19th century in the form of a lodge house with protruding front. Currently a domestic property with some additions or alteration to the original tollhouse structure. http://www.flickr.com/photos/tollhouses/2127859227/ The Cricklade—Malmesbury road was turnpiked in 1756, disturnpiked in 1876.
