I love the Victorians for their common sense in building cities adapted to human needs, even though the living conditions were a nightmare for many. This is a small connecting passage, built in 1893, between Milton Street and the Queen's Park, between dense housing with its grim urban squalor and a wide-open space with fresh air. This was an exciting discovery for a wee laddie, and had a definite warp factor. Image
