Arden House was built in 1860 by the, then Lord Provost of Glasgow, Sir James Lumsden. After remaining in his family until the 1980s, it was sold and converted into luxury apartments (from the Sweeney’s Cruises http://www.loch-lomond.net/boating/cruises.aspx Loch Lomond Cruise commentary).
