Built in 1890 for Henry Brock, first chairman of the Clydesdale Bank of Scotland, it became the Lomond Castle Hotel in the 1960s but was destroyed by a fire in 1990. It was restored in 2001 and converted into lochside apartments (from the Sweeney’s Cruises http://www.loch-lomond.net/boating/cruises.aspx Loch Lomond Cruise commentary).
