This clock tower was constructed in memory of Stephen Hammond 32 and brothers, Paul (17) and David (19) Richardson. In September 1990 these untrained workers were sent into a sewer near this clock tower. The three colleagues were killed by poisonous Hydrogen Sulphide gas, a fourth member of the team aged just twenty only just survived see also Image
