The east elevation of George Bullough's outrageously extravagant holiday home, built between 1879 and 1901. It is in a poor condition, and scaffolding has been erected round the roof while repair work is carried out. This has already lasted much longer than expected, and is not yet complete. What used to be the lawn in front has been colonised by rushes. At least it provides food for birds; I watched several Song Thrushes hunting successfully for grubs and worms in the soft wet ground.
