One of a group of mock Tudor houses in Cross Oak Lane designed by local architect Blunden Shadbolt in the 1930s. Cross Oak was the first of these, dating from 1930, and built for himself. According to Reigate and Banstead Borough Council's list of buildings of architectural and historic buildings, which lists all statutory and locally listed buildings, it is grade II listed, although it does not appear on English Heritage's list.
