View eastward, towards Cheltenham etc. from the east end of the station: GW&LMS Joint main lines, Birmingham etc. - Bristol and Cheltenham - South Wales, Swindon and London. (For details, see Image] and other images here). This is the regular 15.45 Birmingham Snow Hill via Stratford-on-Avon, Cheltenham Malvern Road and Gloucester to Cardiff, which on just four peak Saturdays in July and August ran through to Fishguard Harbour (due 21.40, to connect with the Night sailing to Rosslare. The locomotive is Collett 4-6-0 No. 5952 'Cogan Hall' (built 12/35, withdrawn 6/64), which was saved in 1981 from Woodham's Barry Scrapyard and is now (2012) on the heritage Llangollen Railway, where part of it is being used in the new No. 6880 'Betton Grange'.
