This is the view from the bridge in Dundee Street which crosses the Henderson Terrace slip road exit from the Western Approach Road. The road was constructed on the former Caledonian Railway line. This line was the approach to Princes Street Station (adjacent to the present Caledonian Hotel – Lothian Road/Rutland Street). The cars approaching are all in the lane for the road to Murrayfield (built on what was the Wester Dalry branch line). The circular building in the centre of the picture is the Edinburgh International Conference and Exhibition Centre, while the complex on the right is a cinema and leisure centre built on the former warehouse and distribution centre for the Scottish & Newcastle Breweries Fountain Brewery.
