Gibson Fields

Gibson Fields is a modern high density estate tucked in off Eastgate, the main road which rises steeply to the south from the centre of Hexham. Many of the houses are three-storey terraced houses. The estate was built on the site of the old War Memorial Hospital. Presumably the name Gibson is in honour of Wilfrid Wilson Gibson, local poet (see Image).
