The riverside footpath [number 205/4] at Gunnerside shows signs of the big flood that came through here in December of 2011. There should be a fence with timber step stile at this point, but both have collapsed. The walls around Gunnerside Bottoms pastures beyond have largely been rebuilt as there was considerable damage caused by floodwater up to 2m deep.
