The Anglican church of St Mary Redcliffe looms large in this shot of part of Bristol harbour taken from the Prince’s Street swing bridge. Elizabeth I is said to have described it as "the fairest, goodliest, and most famous parish church in England." Because of its magnificent gothic architecture it is Grade 1 listed. The 292ft (89m) spire is the third tallest of England's parish churches, after the Catholic Church of St Walburge, Preston and the Anglican Church of St James, Louth. It is the tallest building in Bristol.
