This station, designed by J Wilson and W W Ashbee for the Great Eastern Railway in 1898, was the terminus of the Felixstowe Branch Line. It has more recently been converted (1983-85) into part of a retail store and the area is known as "Great Eastern Square". The railway now finishes about 150m west of the old station see Image] Listed building, list entry Number: 1284364 http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1284364
