It was a cold day for the earliest-ever start of a County Championship season, and twenty wickets fell. By five o'clock Worcestershire were 78 for 6 in reply to Nottinghamshire's disappointing 118. (Notts did better in the second innings, scoring 403, and won by 92 runs on the fourth morning.) Since last season the unsightly old commentary and press boxes have been removed from the front of the pavilion - see Image], Image] and others for how things were for many years.
