Stretham Old Engine

The building houses a steam-driven fenland drainage engine built by Butterley and Co. of Derbyshire in 1831. It drove a 37-ft diameter scoop wheel capable of raising 30,000 gallons of water/minute. It has not been in steam for many years. It is open to the public at weekends during the summer.
