Remains of dismantled tramway in Clydach valley

A recent fire has revealed the contour of a ramp on the dismantled tramway here. This is one of the few remnants of the upper part of the tramway. It now seems to be the path of a few electricity poles. Old maps show the tramway leading from the colliery here down the Clydach valley. Part of it is now a walkway in a riverside nature reserve Image The line appeared to continue all the way down to a former industrial area and eventually Cwm Clydach Station. See also Image
