Faded grandeur comes to mind. This was formerly the curator's lodge, built 1836-37. A severe Greek Revival design (since "unhappily altered"). The architect was probably John Cunningham. Grade II listed. Behind lies Wavertree Park. There used to be botanic gardens - hence the curator - but they were pretty much completely destroyed in the Second World War.
