A small hamlet of around six dwellings that straddles Hollow Lane a mile or so to the north of East Hoathly. Well Cottage is on the right and is the northern most house of the hamlet whilst the southern most building, Honeysuckle Cottages can be seen in the distance. Davis's Town probably owes its origins to the medieval settlement of the Weald where peasants and villeins would escape from the estates around the Downs and clear a small area of woodland to farm free from any form of bondage. The suffix 'town' in this instance harks back to the old medieval English for village, 'ton'.
