The name of the fields according to East Hoathly's 1839 tithe map that have been joined together as one. Looking southwards I'm sure you can work out which side was which. Great Wood is on the right whilst Alders Wood can be seen in the distance towards the centre with the top of the South Downs just visible above the tree tops.
