Junction 5 is one of the oddest constructions on the entire UK motorway network. It's a kind of half-hearted cloverleaf junction (see: http://www.cbrd.co.uk/interchanges/cloverleaf.shtml) built decades after that type of junction was deemed unsafe for further construction. As can be seen, to reduce lane changing on the main carriageway, a "through slip road" has been used, separated from lane 1 by hatching.
