These almshouses were founded under the will of William Ford as described in the Image The buildings were severely damaged during the massive wartime bombing raid that destroyed much of the centre of Coventry in November 1940, and six of the residents including a matron were killed. The building has been carefully restored and is used for its original purpose as detailed by Image It represents one of the few surviving examples of how the centre of medieval Coventry would have looked.
