The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery in Welling

This created quite a stir as these horses and riders progressed along the local roads. Most of the riders had control of three horses. This picture was taken in Wickham Street with Shoulder of Mutton Green on the far side of the road. The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery had only moved to the Royal Artillery Barracks a month before and it seems that they were trying out local roads. On this occasion they progressed via Plumstead Common to Welling, and via Welling Way and Rochester Way to the South Circular Road and back to the barracks.
