In the 1950's and 1960's, especially post 'Beeching's Axe', the railways shed old pre-war and wartime covered goods wagons and many were snapped up by farmers to be utilised as storage sheds, stabling, hen sheds etc. There must have been thousands given new leases of life in this way. They were all usually liveried in this shade of burgundy 'rust' colour and as can be seen, many still survive, after maybe some 50 years on the ground and previous careers of maybe a couple of decades actually mounted on rolling stock - a long time out of doors in all weathers. Amazing really. I snap them when I can, as a small amusement. These are fine examples.
