An imposing Grade-B listed commercial building from 1911-12 which gives some impression of why Glasgow was known as 'the Second City of the Empire' in the period before the Great War. The architect was Frank H. Southorn, a Yorkshireman who studied at the Glasgow School of Art in 1890-91.
