The View from Cockleroy

In the distance is Lochcote Reservoir, which is in adjacent squares. This face of Cockleroy is steep and rocky; it is also orientated roughly at right angles to its nearest neighbours, the long axes of which lie roughly east-west. It must be of very resistant rock, and must have presented quite an obstacle to the Ice Age glaciers which, pushing eastwards, sculpted the landscape into the form we see today.
