Despite appearances, this is in Liverpool, not Paris. The horizontal rustication, fenestration and balconies give it a very French feel. Built as a private club (founded in 1797) by Harold Dod, 1924. The club houses the city's only surviving subscription library and newsroom. A plaque records that it was founded to "facilitate access to information and knowledge".
