One way or another I've waited two years to get a decent shot of heron. It's always been a story of wrong camera, no camera, dead battery, me making too much noise or being too slow to get the picture. I walked down to the Cree this morning with both my cameras in my rucksack and stood by the river. Within two minutes almost on cue this beautiful heron landed on a rock on the Cree and stood there long enough for me to get off one shot before it flew away. Strange isn't it the things that make you feel really chuffed - this was one of them.
