On market day (a Wednesday) a temporary stall is outside a pub Y Llew Côch (The Red Lion) on the north side of Heol Maengwyn (A489). Market day is a centuries-old tradition in Machynlleth. It was granted a charter in 1291 to hold weekly markets.
