Looking into the courtyard of Reigate Priory from the Monks' Walk. At the entrance to the courtyard itself can be seen the gate posts topped with eagles. These were originally sited at what was the main entrance to the Priory on Bell Street, but were moved here by Lady Henry Somerset in 1893. Lady Henry was a leading light in the temperance movement and had the gates moved because of their position opposite a pub, "The Castle" - see Image For full details of the Priory, see Image For closer view of the gateway, see Image
