This rather attractive sculpture represents historic aircraft associated with Hamble. The nearby interpretation board gives an account of Hamble's aviation pioneers, giving histories and photographs of Alan Cobham, Alliot Verdon Roe, Juan de la Cierva, Bert Hinkler, Roy Chadwick and Amy Johnson.
