Not marked as a wood on Yeakell & Gardner's 1778-83 map and called Scallows Bridge Field on the 1839 tithe map though it was marked down as a wood. It wasn't named on the 1875 OS map but was from 1899 until it was grubbed sometime in the 1960s.
