View northward, towards Grantham and the North on the ECML and to Boston and Grimsby by the Loop line from Werrington, with the ex-Midland Peterborough - Melton Mowbray etc. lines on the left. The Class F freight is headed by Gresley K3/2 2-6-0 No. 61867, built 10/25 as No. 228 (1946 No. 1867), withdrawn 11/62. Behind the crossing in the foreground is Walton station, on the Midland lines only (closed 7/12/53).
