Five of the 10 high-rise blocks (The Poplars, The Willows, The Beeches, Haughton Court and King’s Meadows) are to be demolished to make way for new homes after private developers pulled out of the refurbishment scheme. Four of the original Swedish designed tower blocks (left) have been refurbished at a cost of £28m to provide luxury apartments for old and new tenants.
