As far as I can tell, due to some erosion the plaque reads 'ENTRANCE TO FOOTPATH' ' PUBLIC FOOTPATH' Along this drive to Keffolds Farm and Hurt Hill was dedicated to the public by Lord Pirrie in the year 1910. Lord Pirrie of Titanic fame brought nearby Witley Park in 1909, he died in 1924 of pneumonia off the coast of Cuba while on a business trip.
