This fine Grade II Listed building with the local title "Cathedral of the Wolds" was designed by James Fowler in a late 13th century style that can seat about 400 and has three bells. Originally Binbrook was two parishes each with its own church and those churches only being a couple of hundred yards apart. St Gabriel’s church was in poor shape and fell down in 1822 and was reported in the 1840's as only a ruin. At the same time St. Mary's, a small building, was in rather a poor state and was pulled down in 1867. The amalgamated new church of local ironstone was consecrated in 1869. About 3m to the east of the south porch is a Grade II* Listed medieval cross that is also a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
