At the end of this residential street there used to be a level crossing, which provided access to various industrial premises on the other side of the Chester to Holyhead rail line. With the construction of River Lane, on the other side of the railway, from the other end of Saltney, there is no longer any requirement for a crossing here. The gates now only provide access to the railway for maintenance workers.
