All is very smart here at the upper set of paired locks at Hassall Green on the Trent and Mersey Canal. The wharf buildings have been converted into a fine restaurant and shop and other businesses. The later (circa 1830) of the two locks has been filled in and Lock 57 Brasserie has enclosed its open air tables there.
