The dead end of Scant Road West

Scant Road was split in two by the construction of the A27(T) which is beyond the fence in the picture. In my 1988 OS Street Atlas the trunk road is shown as under construction. A bridleway leads off to the right and stays beside the A27(T) for over a quarter of a mile.
