This site, abutting Chorlton Park, was originally a primary school and senior elementary school, the senior school becoming a Secondary Modern in the 1940s, or shortly thereafter. The large building seen here is an extension dating from 1958/9. I assume that the now disused caretaker's bungalow is of a similar date. Since at least the 1980s the secondary school buildings have been used for adult education, previously being part of South Manchester Community College and now styled the Chorlton Park Adult Learning Centre.
