Pretty, but the details overfloweth somewhat. At the time The Builder disliked the thin upper columns as they suggested "rain-water pipes without being so". Pevsner laments their polished granite being concealed beneath paint. By Lewis Hornblower, c1858. Grade II listed. It was built for Elkrington's, art metalworkers and electroplaters. Clarks sell shoes. The 70% sale is possibly a sign of the times, possibly just another summer sale.
