Set into the north bank of the River Aire, just off Swinegate/Concordia Street is the King's Mills Stone. This is the only remaining (above ground) evidence of the King's Mills which were demolished in the early 1900's to make way for Leeds Tramsheds. Much of the weirs and dams built for the water power and goits remains under Leeds Station and the Dark Arches. The best collection of images is on Flickr, 4 images entitled 'Swinegate' by jb303.
