In the foreground, to the left of the wire fence, is a public footpath leading towards Shipton Wood, seen ahead. The odd thing is that the Right of Way nears the infant River Avon (in the dip) and then just stops! The walker has no legitimate alternative in this attractive countryside but to retrace his or her steps.
