OK this is a guess, based on a visit a few years ago, but the silos could be storage for pellets of polypropylene and polythene which is made here in huge quantities. (If you are at school, it's poly(propene) and poly(ethene).) The view is over Inchyra Road from a side road where I hope I was not too conspicuous.
