This standing wall monument is described by Pevsner as 'an original and impressive piece'. Dedicated to William Ernle and his wife Jone (sic), it has carvings of three eagles on the curved gable, above which is a date of 1581. Below, are the initials of William Ernle accompanied by exquisite knotwork, and a coat of arms with stylised rose trails left and right, all of a very high quality. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2838423
