Built in 1827 as a Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Chapel (Capel y Babell). Its design is typical of rural non-conformist chapels of the time. The chapel was Grade II listed in June 1972 (using its Welsh name Capel y Babell). A local paper reported in 2005 that the chapel was considered redundant by Caerphilly County Borough Council and was empty apart from the pulpit and a few benches. Though well maintained externally at the April 2011 date of this view, there was no indication here of the building's use, if any.
