Once this was Whitchurch Airport's main runway, built during its service during WWII. However, following the wholesale move to Lulsgate the old site was put out to grass. Now the end of it has been progressively developed into a popular leisure facility. Here you can see the basketball court and a BMX track. See Image] for a view in the opposite direction.
