Built by Henry Tanner, 1894-99. If it looks as if it has been chopped in half, that's because, as a result of war damage, it has been chopped in half. Before that it resembled a French chateau. Now it resembles a French chateau that has been chopped in half. Some rich decoration survives, however (Image]). It is now the Metquarter shopping centre.
